Texas 99 segment proposed to be toll road NEW DEVELOPMENT  - THE CITY OF ROSHARON
A public meeting Aug. 30 will focus on proposed tolling for a planned 26-mile, four-lane segment of the Grand Parkway that would run from U.S. 59 in Fort Bend County to Texas 288 in Brazoria County.

"No toll! No road! We moved here for the big Q — the quality of life," said Paul Davis, a Greatwood subdivision resident, at the Aug. 31 public meeting. "Don't disturb the habitats of people and this community."

"We should all be angered, outraged and disgusted at our officials for this continued lie," said Jesse Cuellar, who lives in the Brazos Lakes subdivision. "This road is not about relieving traffic congestion; there is none. This road is not about a hurricane evacuation route; not many people used (FM) 762 during (Hurricane) Rita. They used Texas 36."

  • Gromax’s Seven Oaks Ranch have set up three Municipal Utility Districts, an O-PUD agreement is in place, the crossing with the BNSF railroad is being finalized, TIRZ#2 has been created, agreements with Centerpoint Energy and the ROW for McCoy Parkway are in progress and as well as the Developer’s Agreement. As part of this project he City of Manvel has been offered a 23 acre site for a Regional Park. The Manvel Lions Club has stepped up to the plate offering to contribute part of their proceeds from their 100 gun raffle toward baseball fields. This is a very generous offer. With these monies, the City of Manvel will be seeking a matching grant to achieve projected outlay.
